In a Gouache state of mind.

Recently, after scrolling though Instagram I found that I was very attracted to a certain type of illustration, where the colors were bold, matt, and flat. One color would lay on top of the other and created a very appealing aesthetic. I realised that they were all painted with gouache, and After doing some research I found myself eager to try them out.

After the first try I wasn't very pleased. My first attempt was before I had truly learned the properties of gouache. I watched a couple Skillshare classes and finally found my footing regarding the medium. I love how they are a combination of watercolors and acrylics.

I was on a kick and had the urge to create monochromatic paintings. I wanted to create lovely paintings for my future child to look at as I changed diapers or rocked in the rocking chair.
